We officially opened our new space on November 3, 2023 at the address Marindvor 21. We started the opening program at 14:00 with an opening ceremony, a tour of our Lifelong Learning Centre in Nature, a cultural and artistic program and a straw workshop for children. From 15:30 to 17:30 we had time to socialize with lunch and drinks. On that day, we organized a public lecture at the Požega City Library at 6:00 p.m. The lecturer was dr. Semir Osmanagich on the topic: "The healing energy of the Bosnian pyramids". The Gallery of Light in the Požega City Library was filled to capacity and more chairs were requested, and according to a free estimate, there were more than 150 visitors to Dr. Semir Osmanagich's lecture.

As part of the project Citizen Z: Strengthening the participation of young citizens in democratic and civic life, which is co-financed by the European Union from the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme, Prizma Association will hold two-day workshops on deliberative democracy for young people:
- in Rijeka on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 - 22, 2023.
- in Osijek on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 - 29, 2023.
- in Zagreb on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 - 5, 2023.
In the deliberative process, citizens jointly reflect on a specific topic, exchange opinions, analyze arguments and evidence presented by experts in order to reach a common understanding of the topic. Then they shape the achieved consensus into conclusions and recommendations for decision makers in the relevant area. As an introduction and preparation for the deliberative process, the program of each event will include informal workshops on media literacy, critical thinking, and forms of democratic and civic participation. The program will be held on Saturday and Sunday in the morning and early afternoon.
We will define the specific topics of the deliberative workshops in Rijeka, Osijek and Zagreb according to the results of this questionnaire, and we are asking for your help in doing so.
All those interested in participating are welcome, and applications are open through the mentioned questionnaire until 14.10. for Rijeka, until 21.10. for Osijek and until October 28, 2023. for Zagreb. The target group is young people aged 15 to 25 (75% of participants) and others 25+ (25%).
Our team, Klaudija Gašpar, history teacher at O.Š. During the training, there was an excellent working atmosphere and extremely motivated and proactive participants. The selection of topics and the methodology of the education implementation were excellently prepared and conducted...🙂
We improved our knowledge and exchanged experiences related to the functioning of the European Union, European values and fundamental rights promoted through the European Charter of Fundamental Rights, and for the purpose of promoting Active Citizenship through Young Work. Furthermore, we dealt with logical errors in reasoning, methods of detecting fake news and deliberative democracy and its methods. Through the above, we strengthened our skills of critical thinking and media literacy.
